House Panel Wants Coast Guard To Examine UAS For Its Medium Endurance Cutters

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee last week introduced a bill that would direct the Coast Guard to study deploying unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) it uses on its fleet of high-endurance National Security Cutters (NSCs) for operations aboard its current and future medium endurance cutters. The Coast Guard Commandant would have a year to report the study results to Congress, according to the bipartisan Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2025 released on July 2.
