Qatar Navy Expansion Continues with New Ships and Bases by 2022

DOHA, Qatar – The Qatar Emiri Naval Forces are moving ahead with plans to expand its fleet, along with its base footprint, over the next four years, a service spokesman said Wednesday.The navy in 2016 signed a deal with Italy’s Fincantieri worth about $4.5 billion to build seven new service vessels over the next 10 years including four corvettes, two offshore patrol vehicles and one landing platform/dock (LPD) amphibious transport ship, along with relevant services.
