Australia Announces New Naval Industrial Zone With Future Submarine Dry Docks

The Australian government on Wednesday announced a new site in Western Australia called the Henderson Defense Precinct that will ultimately include a submarine dry dock for future maintenance activities. During a visit to Henderson, a suburb of the Australian city Perth, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles said the government will establish the precinct at the southern end of the Henderson shipyard strip in a multi-billion dollar effort.
