3rd Marine Littoral Regiment Receives First Ground-Based Anti-Ship Missile System

The Marine Corp’s 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment (MLR), 3rd Marine Division received the first new mobile ground–based anti-ship missile system, the Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) last month. NMESIS will be owned and operated specifically by the regiment’s Medium-Range Missile Battery within the MLR’s infantry battalion, 3rd LCT. The MLR’s Fire Support Coordination Center will be responsible for integrating the NMESIS battery via the Maritime Dynamic Targeting Process, which uses the unit’s maritime and air domain awareness into naval…
